Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is celebrated in the United States annually on February 7. This day was established by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is designed to raise awareness of the dangers and consequences of HIV/AIDS among the African-American community, one of the most affected by the epidemic in the country.

How it is celebrated
On this day, events are held aimed at education, prevention and testing for HIV. Community organizations hold meetings, free testing, online campaigns, educational sessions and tell real stories of people living with HIV.
