Be Kind to Lawyers Day is an unofficial but popular holiday celebrated annually on the second Tuesday in April. It is dedicated to expressing gratitude to lawyers for their work, which often remains undervalued.

History of the holiday
Be Kind to Lawyers Day was created by American Steve Hughes in 2008. Hughes, a specialist in professional communications, thought about how difficult it is to be a lawyer: many people perceive representatives of this profession negatively, associating them with conflicts and litigation. He decided that lawyers deserve at least one day a year when their work will be recognized and appreciated in a positive way.

The date was chosen for a reason: it falls on the day between April Fool's Day (April 1) and Tax Day (April 15 in the USA), to emphasize the importance of lawyers in society, but at the same time to approach the topic with humor.

Lawyers Kindness Day is an opportunity to look at the legal profession from a different perspective. It reminds us that lawyers play an important role in ensuring justice and law and order. Despite their strict professional image, they also need recognition and support.
