National Napping Day is an unofficial holiday celebrated annually in the United States on March 10th. It was created to remind people of the importance of daytime naps and to give them a chance to recharge after the transition to daylight saving time.

History of the Holiday
This day was invented in 1999 by Professor William Anthony and his wife Camila. Their goal was to popularize healthy sleep habits and emphasize that a short rest during the day can improve productivity and well-being.

Why is daytime sleep necessary?
Research shows that a short nap:
- Increases concentration

How is this day celebrated?
- People give themselves permission for a short daytime nap
