Abraham Lincoln's Birthday is observed annually on February 12 in the United States to honor the birthday of the country's 16th president. Born on February 12, 1809, Abraham Lincoln is one of the most revered figures in American history for his achievements in ending slavery, leading the country during the Civil War, and keeping the nation united. Lincoln played a major role in transforming American society through famous speeches such as the Gettysburg Address and the passage of the 13th Amendment, which permanently outlawed slavery in the United States.
