The Academy Awards is an annual event that is considered the pinnacle of the film industry. The Academy Awards (officially the Academy Awards) are presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to honor outstanding achievements in film. The awards are presented at a grand ceremony in Los Angeles, at the Dolby Theatre.

Awards Process
Each year in February, the Academy announces the nominees, who then participate in the voting. Academy members (film industry professionals such as directors, actors, producers, screenwriters, and other professionals) vote for the nominees, and based on their votes, the winners are selected.

The awards ceremony includes a red carpet where celebrities show off their outfits and many ceremonial moments such as speeches, acceptance speeches, and the ceremony of presenting the statuettes.

The Oscar statuette
The statuette awarded to winners is a golden figure of a knight holding a sword and standing on a reel of film. This symbol has become an icon in the film industry.
