The Giant Omelette Day is an annual culinary festival held in the city of Abbeville, Louisiana, USA. This celebration is dedicated to the tradition of cooking a giant omelet, which is then distributed to the residents and visitors of the city.

History of the Celebration
This tradition originated in France, in the city of Bessières, where a giant omelet is prepared every year in honor of Napoleon. According to legend, during one of his campaigns, Napoleon tasted an omelet made by a local chef and was so impressed that he ordered the same dish to be prepared for his entire army. In 1984, the residents of Abbeville decided to adopt this tradition, and since then, the festival has been celebrated annually.
