Teachers' Day is a holiday dedicated to all workers in the educational sphere and, first of all, teachers, who play a key role in the upbringing and education of future generations. This day is recognized as an international holiday and is celebrated on different dates in different countries, but World Teachers' Day was established by UNESCO and is celebrated on October 5.

History of the holiday
World Teachers' Day was established in 1994 by UNESCO to recognize the role of teachers in society and improve their working conditions. The date of October 5 was chosen in honor of the signing of the UNESCO-International Labor Organization (ILO) Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers in 1966. This recommendation defines the rights and responsibilities of teachers, their working conditions and the fundamental principles for their training and professional development.

Celebration
Each country may have its own traditions and customs on Teachers' Day, but the main elements of the celebration are similar:

Festive events in schools and educational institutions. Students organize concerts, congratulations, theatrical performances and give teachers flowers, cards and gifts as a token of gratitude.
Awards and gratitude. In some countries, award ceremonies are held to honor the best teachers, and state and municipal awards are presented for outstanding achievements in the field of education.
Professional discussions and conferences. Meetings of teachers are held to discuss the problems and prospects for the development of education, exchange experiences and new methods.
Social campaigns. On this day, the media and social networks raise the issues of the importance of teachers and the need to improve their working conditions.

Teachers' Day in Different Countries
Russia and the CIS countries also celebrate Teachers' Day on October 5. On this day, in many schools, students teach lessons instead of teachers, festive concerts are organized, gifts and flowers are given.
In China, Teachers' Day is celebrated on September 10, and teachers are also congratulated by students and parents.
In India, Teachers' Day is celebrated on September 5 in memory of the birthday of the second president of the country, philosopher and teacher Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
In the United States, this holiday is celebrated in the first week of May as part of National Teachers Week.

Teachers' Day is an opportunity to express appreciation and gratitude to those who daily put their efforts and souls into the upbringing and education of the younger generation. This is a holiday that emphasizes the importance of education for each person and society as a whole.
