Saint Florian's Day is a holiday celebrated on May 4 in Austria, especially in the region of Upper Austria, where Saint Florian is revered as a patron saint. Saint Florian is also considered the patron saint of firefighters, chimney sweepers, and rescue workers.

Florian was a Roman officer who lived in the 3rd and 4th centuries in the province of Noricum (present-day Austria). He converted to Christianity and refused to participate in the persecution of Christians, for which he was arrested, tortured, and executed in 304. According to legend, he was drowned with a stone around his neck in the Enns River.
