International No Diet Day is celebrated annually on May 6. This day was established to draw attention to the importance of a positive attitude towards one’s body, to get rid of myths about diets and to emphasize the importance of a healthy lifestyle, rather than striving for ideal standards of beauty imposed by society.

Goals of the holiday
Recognition of body diversity. This day promotes the idea that all bodies are beautiful, regardless of their shape and size.

Fighting diet culture. The day encourages people to abandon constant diets and striving for ideals that are often unrealistic and can lead to physical and psychological harm.

Supporting healthy habits. The holiday promotes awareness of the importance of physical health, maintaining physical activity, balanced nutrition and adopting a healthy lifestyle, rather than simply fighting weight.

Raising awareness of eating disorders. International No Diet Day also highlights issues such as anorexia, bulimia and other disorders related to eating habits and body image.
