The holiday is tied to the adoption of the Law "On the Arbitration Court" by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on June 4, 1991. This law became the foundation for the establishment of the commercial court system in independent Ukraine. Later, on November 6, 1991, the Commercial Procedural Code of Ukraine was adopted, which regulated the procedure for resolving commercial disputes.
