English Toffee Day is January 8th is designated by the National Confectioners Association to celebrate this delicious dessert. The English Toffee is a version of Toffee that is very buttery and topped with Almonds. Toffee is made by caramelizing sugar or molasses with butter. The mix is heated until it becomes glossy, then poured into a slab where it cools and hardens. The English Toffee version is typically not as hard as most toffees and is more chewy. Heath bars are made with English Toffee as it's core. In England, a similar product is buttercrunch.
